Cristiano Ronaldo moves to 965 career goals with early opener for Al-Nassr at Al-Najmah

Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring for Al-Nassr at Al-Najmah tonight, to move on to 965 career goals.

The 41-year-old won the spot-kick after drawing a foul from Abdullah Al-Hawsawi and he made no mistake, rifling the ball into the bottom left-hand corner, giving home goalkeeper Victor Braga no chance.

Ronaldo’s goal came after just seven minutes and kick-started a dominant first-half display from the away side.

Al-Nassr continued to dominate and it was no surprise when they doubled their advantage on the half-hour mark.

Marcelo Brozovic was the architect with a nice pass for Kingsley Coman and the former Bayern Munich winger slotted home.

Braga had to go off due to injury but his replacement Waleed Al-Anzi was also picking the ball out of the back of the net soon after.

The overworked Al-Najmah defence could only partially clear a right-wing corner and Inigo Martinez siezed on the loose ball and fired in a shot that was too much for Al-Anzi to keep out.

A win tonight would move Al-Nassr two points clear at the top of the Pro League.

Jorge Jesus’ side have won their last 10 games in all competitions, including eight in the league.
