‘Between the Mountain and the Sky’ Will Be Free to Stream for Limited Time

“Between the Mountain and the Sky” will become available to stream for free on the film’s website for a limited time beginning on Nov. 11.

Helmed by Jeremy Power Regimbal, the documentary follows 2015 CNN Hero of the Year Maggie Doyne and Tope Malla over two decades as they build a home, school and family for more than 50 orphaned children in Nepal.

“We’re rolling it out old-school — a D.A. Pennebaker-style roadshow in the back of a van, direct to the people,” Mark Duplass, executive producer, said in a statement. “Forget the gatekeepers. ‘Between the Mountain and the Sky’ is going online, pay-what-you-want, no barriers. It’s indie filmmaking the way it’s meant to be: scrappy, human and a little bit punk rock.”

The free release marks the next step in the team’s commitment to accessibility and creative independence. “Between the Mountain and the Sky” has screened at over 40 film festivals worldwide and garnered more than 30 international awards.

The film is produced by the Duplass Brothers Productions and MPWR Content.
