Captain America: Is Christian Pulisic destined for a Premier League return this summer?

Alongside leading the USA’s charge at this summer’s home World Cup in North America, Christian Pulisic faces what will certainly be a career-defining few months both on and off the pitch.

While the former Chelsea star might have only continued to shine since arriving at Italian giants AC Milan three years ago, the 27-year-old has found a huge amount of speculation over his long-term future at the San Siro.

Now in the final 18 months of his current deal with the Rossoneri, negotiations have publicly failed to progress and it appears that USA poster boy could find himself at the heart of a major transfer saga this summer.

While Pulisic might have stated during the January transfer window that he was more than “happy” with life under Max Allegri, it has been heavily suggested that a string of Premier League giants are eager to bring the 82-cap international back to England.

Contract frustration at the San Siro

While Pulisic might have struggled to find his tantalising best since opening the New Year, the USA skipper has enjoyed quite the career resurge since making the decision to leave Stamford Bridge back in the summer of 2023.

Struggling to find his feet during his four-year spell with Chelsea after completing a £58million move from Borussia Dortmund as a 20-year-old, Pulisic has quickly cemented his spot as a key figure at the San Siro.

Registering 10 direct goal contributions in his 17 Serie A appearances this season (eight wins, two draws), only Inter Milan superstar Lautaro Martinez (14) has recorded more domestic strikes during the 2025/26 campaign.

Now in the final 18 months of his current deal with AC Milan, the San Siro hierarchy have made it clear that they are desperate to tie down their attacking talisman to a new contract.

However, with discussions failing to materialise, reports over the past few months have suggested that the 27-year-old is keen on completing a blockbuster return to England after this summer’s World Cup finals.

Set to be one of the key transfer players when the window reopens this summer, CaughtOffside reported over the weekend that AC would be reluctantly accept an offer in the region of €70–80 million.

A host of Premier League giants monitoring closely

While Pulisic might have only registered 20 Premier League goals during his four-year stint in west London, there are a string of English heavyweights who are all closely monitoring proceedings in Milan.

Although Premier League strugglers Tottenham might have reportedly billed Pulisic as one of their standout transfer targets this summer, the Lilywhites will have an almighty tussle of their hands.

Alongside links to the likes of Manchester United and title contenders Arsenal over the past few weeks, it has been reported that reigning English champions Liverpool have lodged their interest and could see the USA superstar as their dream Mohamed Salah replacement at Anfield.

With TEAMtalk suggesting last week that the 82-cap international is becoming increasingly open to a second crack at Premier League football, Pulisic certainly isn’t short of blockbuster options.

While AC Milan’s attacking ace might already have one eye fixed on leading out the United States at their home World Cup this summer, it has been reported that his representatives have begun tentative discussions behind the scenes.
