Trafalgar Releasing has partnered with HYBE and BigHit Music to bring BTS World Tour “Arirang” to cinema screens worldwide, with two live concert broadcasts scheduled for April.
The seven-member K-pop group will perform full-length shows streaming live from Goyang, South Korea, on April 11 and Tokyo on April 18. The cinema events mark the opening dates of the group’s first tour since 2021-2022’s “Permission to Dance on Stage.” Each territory will screen both concerts twice to accommodate varying time zones.
“Trafalgar Releasing is very proud to bring one of the year’s most significant cultural moments to cinema audiences worldwide,” said Marc Allenby, chief executive officer of Trafalgar Releasing. “The announcement of BTS World Tour ‘Arirang’ has been met with extraordinary global demand, and we are excited to continue our longstanding partnership with HYBE and BigHit Music on two unmissable live cinema broadcasts this April. Presenting two full-length concerts from Goyang and Tokyo, these events offer audiences around the world the opportunity to come together and experience the tour on the big screen.”
The tour encompasses 34 cities and 82 shows, establishing a new benchmark for tour dates by a K-pop artist. Concerts feature a 360-degree in-the-round stage design intended to create an immersive experience with audiences positioned at the center of the performance.
The tour accompanies BTS’ fifth studio album “Arirang,” slated for release March 20.
The group consists of RM, Jin, Suga, J-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook. Since debuting in June 2013, they have scored six No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 since 2020 and earned five Grammy nominations from the 63rd to 65th ceremonies. Additional accolades include Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards and MTV Video Music Awards.
Trafalgar Releasing previously distributed “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour,” which became the highest-grossing concert film of all time. The company operates in more than 15,000 cinemas across 132 countries.
Additional live viewing dates for later in the year are planned, with details to be announced.
