Brad Karp is stepping down as chair of Paul Weiss and will be replaced by top deals lawyer Scott Barshay, after revelations about his relationship with child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, two people familiar with the matter said.

The FT reported this week that Karp, who has chaired the law firm since 2008, told Epstein he was “amazing” after the disgraced financier arranged a dinner with Woody Allen.

The law firm did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
