Border 2 Box Office Collection Day 15: Sunny Deol starrer Border 2 has been one of the biggest releases of the year and there are several reasons. The movie, which has been directed by Anurag Singh, served as a perfect Republic Day released filled with the feeling of patriotism. To note, Border 2 happens to be the sequel to 1997 release Border and is based on the 1971 India vs Pakistan war. Backed with a stellar cast of Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh and Medha Rana.
To note, Border 2 highlights the valour of Indian armed forces (Army, Air Force and Navy) and also marks Sunny’s return to the franchise after 29 years. In fact, the war drama also featured Varun Dhawan in the role of Indian army soldier for the first time which left everyone mighty impressed. Released amid massive buzz, Border 2 witnessed a good start at the box office and managed to cross Rs 200cr in the first week itself at the domestic and worldwide box office. While Border 2 saw a slow and steady performance during the second week, it started the third week on a slow note.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Border 2 saw a dip of 18.57% in numbers and minted Rs 2.85cr on day 15 (third Friday). This took the overall collection of the movie to Rs 297.25cr
Border 2 Fails To Beat Gadar 2 On Day 15
Interestingly, as Border 2 has been facing frequent comparisons with Gadar 2, the war drama has failed to beat the latter. For the uninitiated, Gadar 2 had minted Rs 7.1cr on day 15 of its release. In fact, Gadar 2 had earned Rs 426.2cr in 15 days.
Meanwhile, talking about Border 2 success, Anurag Singh told Bollywood Hungama, “We knew the emotions were working and were sure that audience would connect with those emotions. As far as the numbers are concerned, everyone had their guesses. I knew that the numbers would happen if the audience likes the film.”
