Border 2 vs Dhurandhar Second Weekend Collection: The year 2026 has witnessed the release of the much talked about war drama Border 2. Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the 1997 war classic Border and it stormed Indian cinemas with both nostalgia and new energy along with marking a significant chapter in the franchise’s box office journey. To note, Border 2 features Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, Medha Rana, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty in key roles. Sunny Deol’s return to the Border franchise after 29 years has been one of the key talking points for the film’s box office narrative.
After hitting theatres on January 23, 2026, Border 2 quickly crossed the ₹250 crore net mark in India within nine days of release, a testament to strong audience turnout in urban and mass circuits alike. To note, Border 2 built momentum through the week and into its second weekend, registering a notable uptick on its ninth day as ticket sales climbed. In fact, the movie saw another hike in numbers on the second Sunday making it a successful second weekend for the war saga.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Border 2, which earned Rs 17.75cr on day 9 (second Saturday), saw a hike of over 26% and earned Rs 22.5cr which took the overall collection of the movie to Rs 275.25cr after 10 days of release

Interestingly, Border 2 has been witnessing a competition with Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar and the war drama has earned less than half of the latter’s second weekend collection. To note, Border 2 had earned Rs 40.25cr during the second weekend while Dhurandhar had earned Rs 111cr during its second weekend. This isn’t all. While Border 2 had earned Rs 275.25cr after 10 days of release, the number was Rs 350.75cr for Dhurandhar.

Meanwhile, talking about Border 2 success, Anurag Singh told Bollywood Hungama, “We knew the emotions were working and were sure that audience would connect with those emotions. As far as the numbers are concerned, everyone had their guesses. I knew that the numbers would happen if the audience likes the film.”
