Boong OTT platform in India: production and creative team
Boong is a joint production between Excel Entertainment, Chalkboard Entertainment and Suitable Pictures. The collaboration brought together a cast and crew focused on a story rooted in Manipur’s social and political tension. The BAFTA success has increased pressure on these companies to secure a Boong OTT platform in India for wider access.
Set against unrest in Manipur, the narrative follows a young boy named Boong, portrayed by Gugun Kipgen. In Manipuri, the title means “little boy”. Boong believes the best gift for his mother, Mandakini, played by Bala Hijam, would be to reunite the family. This belief drives the central and emotional thread of the story.
With support from best friend Raju, portrayed by Angom Sanamatum, Boong heads towards the border town of Moreh. The journey even takes the child across the frontier into Myanmar while searching for the estranged father. As the BAFTA win fuels new curiosity, many viewers now wait for news about a confirmed Boong OTT platform in India.
