The main conflict revolved around ruthless loan shark Kim Myeong-Gil and his company, Smile Capital. He had trapped Geon Woo’s mother in a massive loan that was nearly impossible to repay. What began as a personal struggle soon turned into a mission to expose and destroy a larger criminal system.
As the story progressed, Geon Woo and Woo Jin joined hands with Hong Min Beom and Gang Yong. Together, they carefully planned their moves to bring down Myeong-Gil’s empire. In the final episodes, Myeong-Gil attempted to escape to Vietnam with stolen cash and gold that had been taken after the death of philanthropist Mr. Choi.
However, his escape plan failed. After a series of intense fights, the boxers overpowered his men, and Myeong-Gil was eventually arrested for his crimes. With the villain behind bars, Geon Woo and Woo Jin were finally able to breathe freely. The burden of debt hanging over Geon Woo’s mother was gone, and both friends returned to a calmer life after facing life-threatening dangers.
For Season 2, it has been confirmed that Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-yi will return as Kim Geon Woo and Hong Woo Jin. Fans will also see Choi Si-won reprise his role as Hong Min Beom, the director of Lil Group.
