Competition: Championship
Market: Birmingham City win
Odds: 8/11 @ BetUS
Hoping to move within touching distance of the play-off places this weekend, Birmingham will welcome Norwich to St. Andrew’s on Saturday afternoon.
Starting with the hosts, while Birmingham might have only made their Championship return this season, it is no secret that Chris Davies’ men have their sights firmly set on mounting a genuine play-off charge this time around. Despite heading into November’s international break with a 2-1 loss away at Middlesbrough, the Blues know that they can move within touching distance of the top-six here. Getting November underway with back-to-back 4-0 romps against Millwall and Portsmouth respectively, Birmingham will be dreaming of a repeat performance here. Smelling the chance to get their play-off dreams back on track this weekend, Davies’ side will be excited to make a return to St. Andrew’s. In fact, the Blues have lost just one of their first seven showdowns in the Midlands against Championship opposition across all competitions. It should also be highlighted, Saturday’s hosts have notched 12 goals in just their last four matchups on home soil.
As for the visitors, while Philipp Clement might have only arrived at Carrow Road earlier in the week, the former Rangers boss will be more than aware that he has an almighty job on his hands in Norfolk. Breaking a string of unwanted records since opening up the 2025/26 campaign, Norwich remarkably sit way down in 23rd-place and they are already four points adrift of Championship safety. Rightfully coming under a huge amount of scrutiny, Saturday’s guests have also put just one-point on the board from any of their last eight consecutive appearances. Likewise, Norwich have also failed to win any of their last 11 straight outings (eight defeats, three draws). Signing off October with a 2-1 loss away at Swansea, Clement should be bracing himself for a tricky debut in charge of the Canaries. Hit with a 1-0 loss when they last travelled to St. Andrew’s back in May 2024, we are expecting a similar outcome here.
