Bad Bunny turned the Super Bowl Halftime Show’s global spotlight into a marketing moment. The Puerto Rican superstar debuted his signature Adidas sneakers, the BadBo 1.0, during his electrifying performance at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday night. While the new silhouette has flown off shelves in the hours since his performance, there’s still a few sizes left on the Adidas website. Of course, they’re already reselling at upmarked prices on resale sites such as StockX.
Bad Bunny opted for a fully accessible look for his Super Bowl performance, choosing a head-to-toe cream monochromatic ensemble from the Spanish fast fashion brand Zara — eschewing the flashy couture that often dominate highly televised moments like these (including his custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture look at the Grammys). The ensemble consisted of a custom Zara jersey emblazoned with his real surname “Ocasio” and the number 64 on the back, paired with wide-leg chinos, a collared shirt and matching gloves, later switching to a boxier blazer and tie in the same shade.
The cream palette was knit together with his own Bad Bunny x Adidas “BadBo 1.0” sneakers, the first signature sneaker from Bad Bunny in collaboration with Adidas. Inspired by ’90s athletic and skate aesthetics, the BadBo 1.0 has a mid-top, sculptural silhouette built on layers of premium suede, nubuck, and mesh. Instead of leaning heavily on traditional Three Stripes branding, the BadBo 1.0 incorporates a distinct winged midfoot support and patterned cutouts that create visual depth and a unique profile.
Sartorial details aside, Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show was a celebration of Latin America and especially his native Puerto Rico, as the artist sang and danced through an elaborate set that included a mock sugar-cane field and a Puerto Rico vecindad, with a barber shop, liquor store, and the iconic “casita,” under which Karol G, Cardi B Young, Miko Jessica Alba and Pedro Pascal danced. At the center of the performance, Lady Gaga sang a salsa-inflected version of her 2024 hit with Bruno Mars, “Die With a Smile,” while, in another nod to Puerto Rico, Bad Bunny welcomed fellow native Ricky Martin to the stage for a brief version of “lo que le pasó a Hawái”— from Bad Bunny’s Grammy-winning latest album, “Debí tirar más fotos.”
