Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne Park

In the Melbourne Park sports complex in Melbourne — the state capital of Victoria — sits the Rod Laver Arena.

On 200 Batman Avenue, the primary show court was opened in 1988 and holds 14,820 people.

It is named after Australian tennis icon Rod Laver, a former world No. 1 who won 11 Grand Slam singles titles, including all four in 1962 and 1969. He also contributed to five Davis Cup titles for Australia.
