One hundred years ago, NBC was founded as America’s first broadcast network — eventually bringing us some of the most iconic shows, characters, and lines in TV history.
As the network gears up to celebrate its centennial, Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive look at the NBC100 logo and two TV spots that highlight NBC’s storied programming history.
Ahead of a broadcast debut during the Olympic Opening Ceremony later today, EW can reveal a 30-second ad commemorating some of the most iconic dialogue lines and catchphrases from the network’s beloved series.
Among the shows highlighted are, in order, Saturday Night Live, This Is Us, Seinfeld, Friends, Law & Order, The Good Place, Cheers, 30 Rock, Star Trek, Heroes, Will & Grace, and The Office.
EW can also exclusively debut a 60-second spot titled “A Century Together,” which is the official tagline of the NBC100 celebration. The clip will make its broadcast premiere during the Super Bowl on Sunday, kicking off a 17-day stretch NBC is branding as “Legendary February,” given that it will be airing the Super Bowl, Winter Olympics, and NBA All-Star Weekend during that period.
“‘A Century Together’ honors the countless unforgettable moments we’ve experienced side by side over the past 100 years. But it’s also a promise for the future — because the next century together starts now,” says an official release from the network.
