That was Amazon
AMZN CEO Andy Jassy saying that President Donald Trump’s tariffs are starting to inflate the prices of products sold on Amazon.com.
Speaking Tuesday at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Jassy told CNBC’s “Squawk Box” that Amazon’s data show that many of its third-party merchants purchased large amounts of inventory in 2025 to get ahead of Trump’s tariffs, only for that supply to run out near the end of the year. So while the prices of many goods held steady around pre-tariff levels throughout most of the past year, that’s no longer the case, he said.
