Updates:
The
Malayalam
film
industry
and
the
Keralites
received
a

shock
on
February
19,
2017,
when
a
popular
actress
was
abducted
and
sexually
assaulted
in
a
moving
car.
The
actress,
who
is
one
of
the
most
prominent
leading
ladies
of
Malayalam
cinema,
was
returning
from
a
film
shoot
in
Thrissur,
Kerala,
when
she
was
abducted
by
a
group
of
men,
who
assaulted
her
and
recorded
the
visuals.
The
police
proceeded
with
the
investigation,
and
arrested
Martin
Antony,
the
driver
of
the
vehicle,
and
Sunil
NS
aka
Pulsar
Suni,
who
was
identified
as
the
main
accused,
along
with
four
other
men.
However
things
took
a
different
turn
when
Dileep,
who
is
one
of
the
biggest
stars
of
Malayalam
cinema,
was
accused
of
orchestrating
the
crime.
This
was
followed
by
the
general
body
meeting
of
AMMA
(Association
Of
Malayalam
Movie
Actors),
after
which
Dileep
was
thrown
out.
The
popular
actor
was
arrested
in
July
2017
for
his
alleged
involvement
in
the
crime,
and
spent
over
83
days
in
the
jail
before
the
court
grant
him
bail.
According
to
the
prosecution,
the
‘Janapriyanayakan’ orchestrated
the
crime
as
a
revenge
on
the
survivor,
for
exposing
his
affair
with
current
wife
Kavya
Madhavan,
to
his
ex-wife
Manju
Warrier.
Now,
after
over
eight
years
of
endless
allegations,
revelations,
trials,
multiple
postponements,
and
delays,
the
actress
assault
case
is
finally
about
to
get
its
verdict
today
(December
8,
2025).
What
is
in
store
for
Dileep
and
other
accused?
