Actress Assault Case: Survivor Criticizes Trial Court, Says ‘Not Every Citizen Is Treated Equally Before Law’

Actress
Assault
Case:

In
the
aftermath
of
the
high-profile
Malayalam
actress
assault
case,
the
survivor
has
expressed
sharp
criticism
of
the
trial
court
and
the
handling
of
the
proceedings
over
the
years.
Writing
on
Instagram,
she
criticized
the
judicial
process,
handling
of
evidence,
and
fairness
of
the
trial.

In
her
post
dated
December
12,
2025,
the
survivor
acknowledged
the
conviction
of
six
accused
but
emphasized
the
difficulties
she
faced
over
nearly
nine
years.
“After
8
years,
9
months,
and
23
days,
I
finally
saw
a
small
ray
of
light
at
the
end
of
a
very
long
and
painful
journey.
Six
of
the
accused
have
been
convicted,
and
for
that,
I
am
grateful,”
she
wrote.

She
also
addressed
circulating
misinformation,
clarifying
that
one
of
the
accused
was
not
her
personal
driver
or
employee
and
that
she
had
met
him
only
briefly
while
working
on
a
film
in
2016.
“He
was
a
random
person
assigned
as
a
driver
for
a
movie
I
worked
on,”
she
stated,
urging
the
public
to
stop
spreading
false
stories.

The
survivor
recounted
her
repeated
attempts
to
move
the
case
to
a
different
judge,
noting
that
her
requests
were
dismissed
by
both
the
High
Court
and
the
Supreme
Court.
She
expressed
frustration
at
what
she
described
as
unequal
treatment
before
the
law
and
highlighted
instances
that
led
to
her
distrust
of
the
trial
court.

Among
the
issues
raised
was
alleged
tampering
with
key
evidence,
specifically
a
memory
card,
which
she
claims
was
illegally
accessed
multiple
times
while
in
court
custody.
She
also
pointed
out
that
two
public
prosecutors
resigned,
citing
a
hostile
court
environment,
and
that
she
repeatedly
requested
investigations
into
the
tampering,
which
were
delayed.

Additionally,
she
criticized
the
accused
for
filing
petitions
to
continue
the
case
under
the
same
judge,
a
move
that
heightened
her
concerns
about
the
fairness
of
proceedings.
She
also
stated
that
her
requests
for
open
court
hearings,
allowing
public
and
media
scrutiny,
were
denied.

The
survivor
concluded
her
message
by
reflecting
on
the
broader
lessons
learned
during
the
prolonged
legal
battle
and
expressing
gratitude
to
those
who
supported
her
throughout
the
process.
