Abraam Pandey Ditches Safe Roles, Embraces Power-Packed Avatar In Naagin 7: Challenging Roles Give You A Spark

Abraam Pandey’s journey on television has been anything but ordinary. From playing mythological characters to stepping into the uniform of a strong Army officer, the actor has shown range and courage in his choices. His recent entry in Naagin 7 has once again brought him into the spotlight, and this time, audiences are seeing him in a completely new light.

Looking back at his early days as Modern Narada in Bakula Bua Ka Bhoot, Abraam describes that phase as a major learning curve. “Modern Narada was completely mythological, with a blend of comedy and sarcasm,” he says. The role demanded emotional variety. “Narada was typically a Navarasa character, where you have to play all the emotions of that character. Performing Narada gives you a different kind of acting experience where you have to manipulate sometimes. You must portray the real meaning of those dialogues because Narada is all about conveying the message from one to another in a very understanding way, where no one should feel bad. It shouldn’t feel like a personal attack.”

In contrast, his character in Naagin 7 stands on a very different foundation. “Naagin 7 is a totally different authority-driven character. He’s an Army officer who has to be grounded and not scared at all. He has got that heavy responsibility on his shoulders that he’s carrying for the nation,” Abraam explains.

Moving from light-hearted mythological drama to a serious, uniformed role has changed him deeply. “From that comedy genre and light-hearted characters and shows to here, it’s way beyond what I can explain. The performance has gotten better. From there to here, it’s a completely 360-degree change in me, in my performance.”

There was also a time when Abraam consciously decided to rethink his choices. After Bakula Bua Ka Bhoot aired on &TV and became popular, he began receiving repeated offers to play Narada. “People started loving modern Narada. After that, I started getting maximum calls for Narada’s role only. Then I portrayed a few and thought that I should not do this anymore,” he recalls. He even took a break for over a year while working on Jai Maha Lakshmi on Amazon MX Player, again as Narada. “Then I decided that I would not play Narada again and started looking for meaningful roles, and all of a sudden, I got a call from Balaji for Naagin 7.”

Today, for Abraam, a challenging role means growth. “In today’s time, all the actors are performing with their hearts out. So, challenging roles give you that spark to find it out within,” he shares. He believes every character leaves a mark. “When you portray different characters, you start understanding human psychology and emotions. It gives you good personal growth and self-awareness.”

For Abraam Pandey, evolution is not just about screen time – it is about pushing boundaries and discovering new versions of himself with every role.
