Majumdar

passed
away,

the
industry

mourning.
As
per
reports,
the
celebrated
musician
breathed
his
last
on
Sunday
morning,
January
25,
after
being
in
a
coma
for
the
past
few
months.
The
news
of
his
demise
came
as
a
rude
shock,
with
fans
waking
up
to
the
devastating
update.

pouring
in
from

the
industry,
as
colleagues,
singers,
and
admirers
remembered
him
not
just
for
his
iconic
melodies
but
also
for
his
immense
contribution
to
Odia
cinema.

According
to
Kalinga
TV,
54-year-old
Abhijit
Majumdar
breathed
his
last
at
AIIMS,
Bhubaneswar,
where
he
had
been
admitted
for
the
treatment
of
his
chronic
disease.
His
health
reportedly
took
a
serious
turn
in
August
2025,
when
he
fell
critically
ill
and
was
rushed
to
a
private
hospital
in
Cuttack.
Doctors
identified
alarming
medical
concerns,
including
dangerously
low
sodium
levels,
following
which
he
was
kept
under
close
observation
and
treated
for
multiple
complications.
As
his
condition
worsened,
the
veteran
composer
was
later
shifted
to
AIIMS
Bhubaneswar
in
September,
where
he
was
admitted
to
the
ICU.
He
was
placed
on
ventilator
support
and
was
reported
to
be
in
a
coma.
According
to
reports,
Abhijit
Majumdar
had
been
battling
several
underlying
health
issues,
such
as
hypertension,
hypothyroidism,
and
chronic
liver
disease,
even
before
his
condition
became
critical.
Despite
prolonged
medical
care
and
efforts
by
doctors,
his
health
continued
to
decline,
eventually
leading
to
his
untimely
demise.
