CME halts futures trading on stocks, currencies and other markets, citing data center cooling issue

A shortened day of trading for U.S. markets was off to an auspicious start on Friday after exchange operator CME Group was forced to halt futures trading for several markets.

“Due to a cooling issue at CyrusOne data centers, our markets are currently halted. Support is working to resolve the issue in the near term and will advise clients of Pre-Open details as soon as they are available,” CME

CME said in a brief statement on its website.
