2026 Artios Casting Awards Winners: Sinners, Sentimental Value, More

On Thursday night, the Casting Society announced their winners for the 41st annual Artios Awards — the first to take place since the Oscars’ introduction of their own casting category

This should bode well for Francine Maisler, who took home the Artios in the big-budget feature drama category for her work on Sinners, beating out fellow Oscar nominees Jennifer Venditti (Marty Supreme, and also nominated here but not at the Oscars for Bugonia) and Nina Gold (Hamnet). Maisler had a big night overall, also winning on the TV side alongside Melissa Kostenbauder for her work on Apple TV+’s The Studio in the first-season comedy category. All in all, Maisler has now won 17 Artios Awards

The studio/independent drama category saw Avy Kaufman’s work for Sentimental Value win out, despite her narrow miss with the Academy (she was shortlisted at the Oscars), over other acclaimed titles like Blue Moon and Train Dreams. Other films to win include big-budget feature comedy Jay Kelly, which Gold cast with Douglas Aibel; Rental Family, the Brendan Fraser-led, Japan-set studio/independent comedy cast by Kei Kawamura; animated feature Zootopia 2; international feature The Fisherman; and the A24 darling Sorry Baby, triumphing in the low-budget field. (Some Oscar contenders unaffiliated with the Casting Society, like One Battle After Another, were not eligible for any Artios Awards.)

Over in TV, several Emmy favorites again repeated, with Cathy Sandrich Gelfond of The Pitt snagging best first-season drama and Adolescence’s Shaheen Baig coming out on top for limited series. Because the Casting Society separates returning and new programming, this paved the way for Severance and Hacks to win their categories’ top awards as well.

Three Artios ceremonies were held concurrently on Thursday, with What We Do in the Shadows’ Harvey Guillén hosting at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, Somebody Somewhere’s Jeff Hiller at The Edison Ballroom in New York and Baby Reindeer’s Jessica Gunning at One Moorgate Place in London. Presenters included Oscar winners Marcia Gay Harden and Marlee Matlin, Heated Rivalry breakout François Arnaud and The Pitt stars Supriya Ganesh and Sepideh Moafi.
