200 Employees Through Voluntary Departure Plan

Video game publishing giant Ubisoft has set a goal to cut the staff at its headquarters in France by 200 employees as it continues a larger reorganization of the company.

“In line with the Group’s ambition to reshape its HQ into a leaner and focused organization, consultations with employee representatives have been initiated regarding the objective to reduce headcount at Ubisoft HQ in France by 200 positions through a voluntary departure plan,” the company said in a letter to shareholders accompanying its latest quarterly earnings Thursday. “These measures are intended to support a more agile organization and reinforce the Group’s ability to deliver sustainable, profitable growth.”

A representative for Ubisoft did not immediately respond to Variety‘s request for comment on plans for potential layoffs across the company and its new five-creative-house model amid the restructuring.

More to come…
